Bruins - Avalanche Fun

We didn't all make it into the picture but we had fun as the Bruins found their first win of the young season over the Avalanche 6-2.  Seven DA alums were able to attend the second Bs-Avs contest of the calendar year and we had a lot of fun meeting and catching up.  Great to see you:

Bruins are back!

Deerfield + Avalanche

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2015 Mark your calendar and get ready to see the Avalanche take on the Boston Bruins at home in the Pepsi Center on October 14!  Join the Deerfield Club of the Rockies as we watch the game from Section 368, Rows 9 & 10. These are great seats to watch the Avalanche in the offensive zone two out of three periods.Game time: 8:00 pm Online ticketing opens later this month, so check back here on September 23.

DEERFIELD magazine: Spring 2015

Another tremendous issue from DA.  Many retirements amongst the faculty (the shortest tenure of the group is 23 years), TEDx and eradicating parasites in children are some of the topics discussed.  The Common Room (aka classnotes) is awesome, not just because the Class of 1983 crushes it once again!

DA Service in Denver

Your Deerfield Club of the Rockies made a difference at the Food Bank of the Rockies on April 18.

Once a month the Food Bank welcomes individuals to their warehouse and loads up a grocery cart of food and wheels it out to their car or church van.  The day we were there an estimated 450 people were served from 9-11:45 am!

There were all manner of grateful recipients, many originally from eastern Europe, and smiles were plentiful as staples and even a few cupcakes, filled their carts.

Our role was to be paired with a recipient and walk their cart through the "buffet" of options, lots of vegetables especially, and then out to their car.  We might have only been "cart pushers" but we could tell we were delivering a lot more than just food...

Thanks again to Cathy Poor '97 and Kam Tang, Paul Garaud '02 and Tina Schweizer, and Lizzie Rosenberger '03 who was in from NYC for the weekend and joined our outing.  Old man John Knight '83 helped organize, supervise and advertise...
